Privacy Policy

Effective August 6, 2026

DueDate (“DueDate,” “we,” “us”) is a shared calendar app operated by Jonathan Garza. This policy explains what information DueDate collects, how it’s used, and who it’s shared with. DueDate is currently in private beta — this policy will be revised as the service grows.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile photo as provided by Google. We store a copy of your email, name, and avatar in our own database so we can display them to people you share calendars with.

Calendar content. Anything you create in DueDate — calendar names and colors, event titles, descriptions, locations, dates and times, and the email addresses of people you invite — is stored so the app can function. Locations you enter may be looked up using Google’s Places API to suggest addresses as you type.

Personalization preferences. Your own display-name/color overrides for shared calendars, and your accent-color choice for the combined calendar view, are stored against your account and are never visible to other members.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate DueDate: authenticating you, displaying calendars and events, sending invite/share emails on your behalf when you ask us to, and remembering your preferences. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your information to anyone.

Third-party services we use

DueDate relies on a small number of third-party services to function, each of which processes some of your data on our behalf, under their own privacy policies:

  • Clerk — authentication and account sign-in (including Google sign-in).
  • Google — sign-in via Google OAuth, and address suggestions via the Places API when you enter an event location.
  • Brevo — delivering calendar/event invite emails you send through the app.
  • Neon — hosts our Postgres database, where your account and calendar data is stored.
  • Vercel — hosts the application itself.

Who can see your data

Calendar owners and members you’ve invited can see the calendars and events you’ve shared with them, according to the role (owner, editor, viewer) you’ve granted. We don’t share your data with anyone else outside the third-party services listed above.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email jongarzatj@gmail.com. We don’t yet have a self-service delete option built into the app itself.

Children’s privacy

DueDate is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Security

We rely on reputable third-party providers (Clerk, Neon, Vercel) for authentication and infrastructure security, and we don’t store passwords ourselves. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as DueDate evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
